Aimo Okkolin

Aimo Okkolin (1927–2002) was indeed a Finnish glass designer, most notably associated with the Finnish glass industry in the mid-20th century. He worked primarily with the glass manufacturer Iittala, one of Finland's leading glass companies, and was instrumental in developing iconic designs for them.

Okkolin is best known for his work in the 1950s and 1960s, during a period when Finnish glass design was gaining international recognition. He designed a range of products, from functional tableware to more sculptural pieces. His glass designs are characterized by their simplicity, organic forms, and the use of clear and colored glass. His works often incorporated subtle textural elements and an emphasis on craftsmanship, which were key aspects of Finnish glass design during that time.
