Gunnar Cyrén Chandelier

A grand chandelier designed by Gunnar Cyrén (1931–2013), model “Prince” for Orrefors glassworks, conceived in 1963–64. Formed for twelve light points, the chandelier is richly adorned with cast crystal glass prisms that cascade in layered tiers, creating a shimmering, almost jewel-like presence. The structure is executed in gilded brass, lending warmth and authority to the design. When illuminated, the prisms refract light into a vibrant play of reflections, giving the chandelier a ceremonial and majestic character. Prince exemplifies Cyrén’s ability to unite sculptural form, refined craftsmanship and luxurious materials within Swedish mid-century lighting design.
