Cardboard and acrylic paint relief art piece by Sakari Laitinen

A cardboard and acrylic paint relief art piece in turquoise colour entitled “Knossos” by Finnish artist and architecjt Sakari Laitinen. Laitinen was a key Finnish architect who studied in the late 1950s and worked with Alvar Aalto. He contributed to Helsinki’s master plan and his architectural style was rooted in 1960s constructivism with diverse influences. Alongside architecture, Laitinen excelled in drawing and graphic design. The shift to digital design led him to close his practice in 1997 and focus entirely on art. This piece is dated 2011 and is an amazing conversation starter.
